Container sizing before you buy jars

Matching lids across a pantry looks tidy until one brand changes packaging height. We measure your actual dry goods — pasta bags, coffee beans, baking staples — and assign container volumes so nothing leaves wasted headroom.

Aarhus co-op shoppers often bulk-buy rice and legumes. Wide-mouth 2 L jars suit scoop access; narrow 1 L stacks suit spice-heavy Latin Quarter kitchens with shallow shelves.

Zone tags for shared households

Roommates and multi-generational Trøjborg homes need zones everyone respects without a daily argument. Colour-coded shelf edge tape or printed zone cards mark owner areas, shared staples, and allergy-separated bins.

We write labels in plain English (or Danish if you prefer) with expiry rotation reminders where relevant. Abbreviations fail when a guest tries to find tea at 07:00.

Rotation labels for perishables

First-in-first-out only works when the label faces forward. We specify label size, font height, and placement on containers and shelf fronts so dates remain readable after six months of kitchen steam.

Freezer zones get moisture-resistant tag stock recommendations; fridge door pockets get smaller labels that survive condensation cycles.

Digital versus handwritten systems

Some clients prefer a printed sheet taped inside the cupboard door listing every bin code. Others use phone notes linked to shelf numbers we assign during layout. We recommend one primary system — mixing both creates drift within weeks.

Maintenance after the first month

Labels peel when adhesive meets dusty shelf paint. We include a supply list for Danish-available label stock and a one-page guide for replacing tags when container sizes change after a shopping habit shift.
